About MEGAN Cottage

Megan Cottage,  26 Old Court,  Kenegie Manor,  Penzance,  TR20 8YN

Megan Cottage is a delightful 2-bedroom cottage on the pleasant and quiet Kenegie Manor holiday park high on the hill above Penzance, with fine views over Marazion and St Michael's Mount. The town is a five minute drive down hill, and here you'll find lots of shops and places to eat and drink, as well as the ferry to the Scilly Isles.

We are only 15 minutes from st Ives through some dramatic Cornish scenery including a medieval village at Chysauster. Flambards theme park (Helston) and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary are also quite close, and it is only nine miles to Lands End and the Minack open-air clifftop theatre at Porthcurno.

For shopping, Penzance itself has lots of smaller, interesting shops, and  the towns of Truro and Camborne are also great for a walk around the shops.

The cottage has a large open-plan lounge/dining room and kitchen, giving it a spacious feel. The kitchen is fully equipped with  cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster.

The lounge has two comfortable settees and a TV and DVD player; there are also some books, games and jigsaw puzzles available, a keyboard and a CD player/radio.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) with built-in wardrobes, and a shower room/WC. There's also a double bed-settee in the lounge for any extra guests. The stairs are fitted with a stair lift for any less mobile guests.

The cottage is carpeted throughout, and heated by electric wall heaters and a "moving flame" electric convector fire. Electricity is included in the letting cost.

Outside there are patio area front and back, and well tended lawns and grounds.

Kenegie Manor clubhouse has a heated indoor swimming pool, a cosy bar with pool table, also serving meals  and take-out food, and a wi-fi lounge (bring your own laptop or use the Manor's computers for a small charge). In the grounds there are tennis courts, putting green and a fully-equipped children's play area.

The pool opens from 1st March to around 1st October, but the bar remains open for a few more weeks after this.  The Wi-fi lounge is available all year round.

There is an excellent pub called the Engine Inn a few miles up the road to St Ives, with local ales, good food, and a warm fire on many late autumn/winter evenings. There’s also a highly regarded restaurant in the village of Gulval, about ten minutes walk or a few minutes to drive to it.

Your well-behaved dog is also welcome at Megan Cottage. There’s a lovely dog walking area with a fine view over Penzance. Nearby Long Rock beach is available for dogs all year round, and the beautiful beaches at Marazion, Porthcurno and Sennen Cove drop their summer dog bans on 30th September.. (Please keep dogs off the furniture).

Cornwall is pleasant in the early spring, is warm and usually fairly dry in the summer, and often warm and sunny all through September and October. The autumn colours are particularly beautiful down here, with many small lanes where the trees almost meet overhead.

On confirmation of your booking, we’ll send out a leaflet with full details about the cottage, the manor and surrounding areas, including directions, and details of how to use the keysafe.

The bedding is all provided; all you have to bring is towels.

There is plenty of room to park if you come in more than one car.
